QUALITY OF LIFE
Welcome
Whether you are here for the day or looking for quality living,
Madison County should be at the top of your list for your next
destination or meeting. Many visitors now call Madison county
home - whether to further build their family values in a rural
community, pursue their dream of ranching, build their business
interests, or just to slow down and enjoy the fresh air and
ambience of a smaller community. We welcome them with open
arms and Texas Friendly hospitality.
Madison County offers recreation, health care, and quality
schools in a quiet rural setting. For outdoor activities, people take
advantage of what Lake Madison has to offer with its new jogging
path, fishing and boating, baseball and softball fields, Lake
House, pavilion, and wide open spaces are great for a family
gathering or just relaxing with a friend or a good book. Quality
health care is near by with hospital, clinics and caring
professionals to meet your personal needs. The award winning
independent school system will welcome your children with open
arms and curriculum that will prepare them well for the future.
We can boast about many attractive destinations from the
Truman Kimbro Convention Center to historic bed-and-
breakfasts, historic county museum, county library with genealogy
section, and sprawling cattle and horse ranches; county fair
grounds, and rodeo facilities. You can find space for various
types and sizes of meetings. Additional meeting facilities, room
inventory, and competitive prices provide ample accommodations
for your day trip or overnight stays.
In addition, our community sponsors several events each year
beginning in March with the county fair and rodeo, May – rodeo,
trail ride and cook-off, September – barbeque cook-off, October –
Arts and Crafts Festival as well as the ghost and goblins who
haunt the downtown square, and is December – a lighted holiday
parade. Our area is know as the Mushroom Capital of Texas and
we live up to that reputation through Monterey Mushrooms and
our annual Texas Mushroom Festival held in October.
Welcome – tell your family – tell your friends – you're not a
stranger in Madison County.
