


City of Madisonville Tax Abatement
Tax abatement helps reduce the substantial costs usually associated with locating or expanding
a business in a local community. To assist in this effort, the City of Madisonville revised its policy
to further enhance the benefits afforded under this program. The following types of businesses
are eligible to apply for tax abatement. All applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

SBA 504-Loans
Low down payment, long-term, favorable interest rate financing is available through the U.S.
Small Business Administration’s loan program. SBAlliance Capital, along with private lenders,
make direct loans to businesses for the purchase of land, buildings, machinery, and equipment.

Job Training
The Skills Development Fund is an innovative program created to assist Texas public community
and technical colleges finance customized job training for local businesses. The Texas
Workforce Commission administers the fund. Grants are provided to help companies and labor
unions form partnerships with local community colleges and technical schools to provide custom
job training. Average training costs are $1,000 per training; however, the benefit may vary

Industrial Revenue Bond Program
This program issues bonds for eligible industrial or manufacturing projects to provide tax-exempt
financing for land and depreciable property. The Development Corporation Act allows cities,
counties, and conservation and reclamation districts to form non-profit industrial development
corporations or authorities on their behalf. The purpose is to issue taxable and tax-exempt bonds
for eligible projects in their jurisdictions.
